Beautiful and well-preserved oil painting from 1922 with a military historical motif depicting Prussian dragoons (cavalrymen) on guard with their horses at dawn during the Napoleonic Wars. The painting is an official, museum-approved copy made directly at the museum in Dresden in 1922. It is fully documented with an official stamp on the back ("Kopie nach No 2433 der Gemälde Galerie zu Dresden. 1922"). Original artist: Robert von Haug (1857–1922) – the original was painted in 1891. Copyist (painter): The German artist Richard Mauff (1877–1945), who has signed the front with "n. Robert Haug cop. R. Mauff".
